Important MEAL Announcement!!

Good afternoon. We need to let everyone know that for the meal on Saturday everyone must have a meal ticket. And this ticket must be presented when you pick up your meal. Today a large number of people went through the line without handing in their tickets. This is causing issues with the host church, so please be sensitive to the needs of our hosts.

Good morning. It is 7:30 AM, the festival team is in high gear getting ready for the arrival of 80 teams, helpers are heading to their rooms, and excitement is running high as we start the process of crowning a National JBQ Champion.

Pray for all the kids, coaches, families and friends that the day and quizzing go well.

JBQ National Day of Prayer

Thursday, June 7 is our monthly day of prayer for Junior Bible Quiz.  This month, please pray for the National JBQ Festival which will be June 7-9.  Pray for our Festival Coordinator, Pastor Barry Jorris and the other Festival leadership.  Pray for everyone attending the National Festival:  for the quizzers, coaches, officials, Festival staff, church staff, vendors, and spectators; for God to fill us with His Spirit so that we may demonstrate his love and grace to each other.   Finally, please pray God’s blessing on our host church, Faith Assembly of God in Orlando, FL.  God bless all of you!

Parking information for teams and guests…

Good evening.

Team check-in will happen in the Atrium which you can access from Lot 2 and Lot 6. However, we need people to park in Lot 4, 5 and 6. PLEASE DO NOT PARK in Lot 2. This is important to help with the church guests because church work hours are still happening  on Thursday and Friday.

Festival ceremonies will be in the Youth Sanctuary. The better lots to access this are Lots 4 and 5.

Countdown to Orlando…

Good evening. I would bet that there are a lot of people working hard to get ready for the trip to Orlando. Some are driving (we are) and some are flying. Everyone is packing, and the Festival Committee and staff are hard at work putting the final touches on a year long process:

  • Plaques are being delivered
  • Database is complete
  • Schedules are done, rooms are assigned, officials are assigned
  • Name tags are being printed and put together
  • T-shirts are being sorted
  • Camera and printing equipment is being checked
  • Waivers are being checked (did you do yours?)
  • Media is being planned for – Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • All of the hundreds of small and large details are being attended to

Please pray for all of these details as well as traveling mercies and protection for everyone. Any last minute questions can be addressed to this blog or to mkpaulsen@comcast.net (read old blog posts – answers might be there)!

NO MORE CHANGES!!

Good morning. Please note that there are no more changes allowed to your team, quizzers, coaches, or officials. The quizzing database is finalized so no more changes of quizzers is allowed. Name badges are also finalized and we will not be making changes / printing badges at the festival site.

Meals

This is the price for both Friday and Saturday meals. 
Combos will be $6 (this includes 1 entree, chips, 2 cookies and the drink)
Single entrees will be $4

Cookies: $1.00 ( for 2 cookies)

Chips: $1.00
Drinks: $1.00
Friday Lunch: Ham & Turkey Sub ( 6 inches) with option of salad.
Saturday Lunch: Chicken Sandwiches & Hamburgers with Fries (or chips) with option of salad.

T-shirt Orders – Important Info

It was brought to my attention that there has been some confusion as to the deadline for pre-order the T-shirts.  I apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused.  The deadline was May 20th but I am extending it to May 24th at 8:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time. Email orders are accepted.  Payment may be sent separately.  If payment cannot be sent quickly,  contact me for options. Please feel free to contact me with questions.  I hope this is helpful!
